This podcast has been a long time coming – well, for us anyway.
In fact, from the initial glint in the eye, suggesting against all popular medical research there may actually be some brain activity to measure in Boogie and John, it’s probably taken about the length of a standard pregnancy to get here.
So, what exactly is the Two Dud Dads podcast?
It’s a ‘How To Be Dad’ show.
Thanks for reading, see you next ti….
Boogie and John first met years ago in Aberdeen, working for the same employer, Northsound Radio.
John hosted the breakfast show on Northsound 1, while Boogie presented the same slot on Northsound 2.
They quickly became mates for life, and have long since wanted to present a show of some kind together, but the opportunity has never arisen.
For most, the fact no media conglomerate had seen fit to ensure this partnership had formed on air at some point in the last thirty years would be enough to deter them from attempting to do it themselves, but not our daring duo.
Unfettered, and with only a career lifetime of low expectation drummed into their respective audiences to protect them, Boogie And Mellis Shows was formed.
Two Dud Dads is its first (and most likely, ONLY) production.
Its aim, as mentioned previously, is to help make better fathers with the help of some experts.
We intend to go through the seasons and life chronologically, so Season 1 follows the various stages of pregnancy and what that entails, especially from a Dad’s point of view.
Guiding us through that is women’s health expert and doula, Becks Armstrong.

We’re also joined by some expert fathers, Grant Stott and Garry Spence.
Grant is Dad to Sam (23) and Lori (19), Garry has twins Hollie and Rachel (8) as well as son Charlie (3)
Through their wealth of experience, we’ve named these experts – The Dude Dads.
Also, Garry was the only one with a national newspaper column who could give us this exposure.
Each week, they can help other Dads (maybe you) struggling with a fatherhood issue, by dispensing Dadvice for those Da’lemmas.
To enlist their help, simply get in touch.
Oh, and we can’t forget ‘Silent Andrew.’ Every show, whether on the radio or part of the podcast world has its own Silent Andrew, but none of the others is as great as ours. Rarely seen and never heard Silent Andrew is the brain and beating heart of the entire operation that is Two Dud Dads. He takes the stuff we make, performs some kind of satanic or voodoo ritual on it and somehow recovers the material to a position of vaguely passable for censors and listeners alike. He chops, cuts, mixes, blends and produces. Most of all he presses the button on the bleep machine better than anyone else in the industry. In truth, he’s not actually silent, but has learnt over the course of three decades that an eye roll, face palm, or pitying sigh at the right moment are far more powerful than any of his vocabulary. Without Silent Andrew we simply wouldn’t be here. Also, we don’t pay him nearly enough, hence the reason he’s got a bigger introduction paragraph than anyone who actually features on the show.
Enough?

Excellent.
And that’s it, well, along with….
